A regular 50,000 lei banknote from the polymer series, issued by the National Bank of Romania, variant with 2001 date. Printed on polymer substrate.
On the obverse — portrait of composer George Enescu on the right, a carnation flower and musical notes in the center. Main color — violet, lilac, brown and multicolored. The design features the coat of arms of Romania. Inscriptions in Romanian.
On the reverse — the building of the Romanian Athenaeum (concert hall) in Bucharest, a musical chord from the opera “Oedipus”. Multicolored printing with predominance of violet and lilac tones. The design highlights Romania’s musical and cultural heritage.
